About US

Our Roots

The Selfless Sportsman Association is a nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that ethical harvest carries a responsibility beyond the field. In East Tennessee, many families struggle to access reliable, high-quality protein, while at the same time, legally harvested wild game often goes underutilized. We exist to bridge that gap.

Our goal is for Selfless Sportsman Association to grown from a small group of hunters into a regional movement feeding thousands of families each year. We work with hunters, processors, and community partners to ensure that wild game harvested responsibly is put to its highest and best use—feeding people who need it most.

Our Values

  • Stewardship: Honoring wildlife and the land through responsible harvest and use
  • Service: Putting the needs of our neighbors first
  • Integrity: Operating transparently and within all regulations
  • Community: Strengthening connections between sportsmen and those in need
  • Respect: For the harvest, the hunter, and the families we serve

Why We Started

For those who hunt, stewardship isn't just a word—it's a way of life. We respect the land, the wildlife it provides, and the responsibility that comes with taking from it. The idea behind Selfless Sportsman Association grew from a simple conviction: no ethical harvest should go to waste when neighbors are going hungry.

In East Tennessee, food insecurity is a real and ongoing issue. At the same time, sportsmen are already doing the hard work—spending long days in the field, following the law, and honoring the resource. We saw an opportunity to connect those two realities in a way that honors both.

What We Do

Selfless Sportsman Association collects legally harvested wild game and works through approved channels to ensure it is processed, handled, and distributed safely and legally. That food is then provided to individuals and families in need at no cost through trusted local partners.

Our focus is local. By serving East Tennessee communities, we can build strong relationships, maintain accountability, and ensure the harvest stays close to home—benefiting the same communities we live, hunt, and work in.

How We Are Different

We are sportsman-led and community-driven. Our approach is built on respect—for wildlife, for the law, and for the dignity of those receiving assistance. We emphasize:

  • Ethical and legal harvest practices
  • Stewardship of wildlife resources
  • Local distribution and impact
  • Minimal waste and responsible use
  • Serving without judgment or strings attached

This isn't about charity for recognition. It's about doing what's right with what we've been given.

Our Future Goals

While our work currently centers on East Tennessee, our long-term vision is to grow responsibly—expanding partnerships, increasing capacity, and reaching more communities without losing the values that define us.
